Stream overlay ideas for TCG streamers
Overlays that make a card stream better: order queue, break spots, sale alerts, pack counter, hit of the night and more, without covering the cards.

On a card stream, the cards are the star. Everything else on screen should either answer a viewer's question or add to the excitement, and stay out of the way of the mat. These are the overlays that do one or the other, and how to set them up.
Overlays that answer questions
1. The order queue
Who is being opened now, who is next and how many are waiting. It answers the most common question in a selling stream before anyone types it. See how to show a live order queue.
2. Box break spots
During a break: how many spots are taken, how many are left, and who is in. It drives the last few sales and shows the break is fair. See the box break tracker.
3. How to buy
A small, permanent line that says how buying works, or a chat command to type. New viewers should not have to ask.
4. Schedule
Your stream days and times, on the starting soon and break scenes. It is the easiest way to turn a one-time viewer into a regular.
Overlays that add excitement
5. Sale alerts
A short pop-up with a sound when someone buys. It tells the room that the stream is active, and buyers like seeing their name on screen.
6. Pack counter
A running count of packs opened, which viewers enjoy watching climb. See how to add a pack counter.
7. Hit of the night
A spot on screen for the best card pulled so far, with the buyer's name. Swap it when something better comes out. A simple image source in OBS works, updated by hand or with a snapshot from your card camera.
8. Goal bar
Followers, subs or a pack milestone. Goals give viewers a reason to stay and help. Most streaming tools include one.
Overlays for the in-between moments
- Starting soon: a still or loop with music and your schedule, for the first minutes.
- Be right back: so the stream never sits on an empty desk.
- Queue paused: if you step away mid-sale, a paused queue tells buyers their place is safe.
One source or many?
Each overlay can be its own source in OBS, but fewer sources are easier to manage. StreamQueue combines the queue, box break spots, sale alerts and the pack counter in one Browser Source, in six designs you can recolour. See the overlay for Pokémon TCG streams or try the demo.
